  • Problem reconnecting media

    So here is my problem:

While working in one timeline (Codec=DVCPROHD 720p60) I will render out a clip by going to “export quicktime movie” and selecting “Make self contained.” Then I will take the movie file and add it to another timeline using the same codec and everything will work well for a while, then typically after a reboot the clip will remain in the bin and on the timeline, but no longer linked to the media. When I attempt to play the clip on the timeline I get a “General Error.” If I attempt to reconnect from the time line I get a General Error, and if I attempt to reconnect from the bin I can get to the reconnect screen but it no longer shows the name of the clip in the top box. If I try “Locate” and point to the file and select “choose” nothing happens, it returns me to the reconnect box but does not connect the media in the lower box.

This problem has occured with both exported movie files and exported aiff files, and is driving me crazy. I have check permissions and they appear to be good. I can reinsert the clip into the bin or timeline and it will work for a while again, so I don’t think the clip is corrupted. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
