  • Need Help with FCP 6.0.2 update for Tiger

I have two computers, one is a brand new MacBook Pro that has FCP updated to 6.0.2, and is running on the Leopard OS. The other is a Powerbook G5 that is running on the Tiger OS, and has FCP 6.0. I am having trouble getting my projects created on my MacBook Pro to open on the G5 because they are running on two different version updates of FCP.

I am trying to update my G5 to the 6.0.2 version and its not giving me that option.

The apple support website and the good folks at the Apple store told me that all I need to do is update Quicktime to 7.3 and then FCP will update.

Quicktime is updated to 7.4.5 the latest version, and it still gives me no option to update FCP to 6.0.2, despite the number of restarts I give the computer.

Can anyone help me solve this problem. I really need this fixed ASAP!

Apple no longer offers FCP 6.0.2. They only offer the upgrade to 6.0.3, and that is buried in an update called the PRO APPS UPDATE for April 2008. So if you want both computers on the same version then you will need to upgrade both to 6.0.3.

Is this stupid? Yes it is. How can you avoid it? Every time you upgrade, don’t do it thru the Software Update panel. Actually go to the Apple site and download the stand alone installers…and archive them.

    Sorry.
