  music layering and customization software

  I’ve been reading ads for a number of software products with affiliated music libraries, which claim an additional feature set that enables the editor to customize the music cut for a given video sequence.

  The music is presented in multiple layers, so that the editor can dip certain layers for voice-overs, etc. The software also allows the editor to change the length and enable “hits” at appropriate spots.

  But all of this seems to involve a separate software product, so that you have to export your video to customize the music, and import the resulting music file into FCP.

  Is there any music customization software which you could recommend, which enables the editor to stay within FCP?

  And, if anyone has used one of these products an evaluation would be welcome.
