Importing HDV 720p 60f Codec
I have serveral data dvd’s that have quicktime footage with a HDV 720p 60f Codec. I try opening them in FCP but I cannot see the video. I can hear the audio but no video. I tried changing my sequence settings but there is no sequence setting for HDV 720p 60f. Does anyone have any advice?

I’m guessing you tried this already, but have you dropped one of the clips into a DVCPro HD 720p60 sequence, rendered and then tried to play? If that doesn’t work, I guess you could export from that sequence and import it back in?

Thanks for responding. Well I tried creating a sequence with a 720p 60f timeline but there is no option for that type of sequence. The closest sequence is a 720p 30f timeline which doesn’t work. I tried your option of exporting it and I get an error saying that I might not have the appropriate hardware installed for that codec. So does that mean that Final Cut Pro does not support an HDV 720p 60f codec?

It might not. I’m sure there’s a way to get it to play back, but I’ve never seen a sequence preset of “HDV 720p60f”, the only thing close is the DVCPro HD 720p presets. I suppose you could also try creating a new HDV720p30 sequence and change the editing timebase to 59.94? I doubt that would help.

Also, did the clips come from a JVC camera? You might want to check their website and see if they have a codec?
