  No Video VIA Firewire

  Hi,

  I have FCP 4.5 here running on a G4. All was working perfectly, then a few days ago I tried to load some video from my JVC deck and FCP won’t “see” the video.

  I tried my Canon GL1 in place of the deck and same issue, no video in or out.

  Oddly FCP will control the deck, I can make it play and stop etc, so the firewire is interacting with it on some level. But when I hit load video I just get a black screen.

  Now when I boot up Premiere on the same machine, Premiere sees the deck just fine, I can load from the deck and print back to the deck.

  Any ideas, it was and has been working perfectly.

  Richard – what are your project settings – did you use an “easy setup”? You may want to start with one of these…
