  Compressing HDV in FCP (Conforming HDV)

  Good Day

  This is my first FCP Project using HDV footage to create a DVD. The footage was transferred from an external hard drive where the person saved the clips as avi, I imported them into my FCP project getting it to play using HDV-1080i60 (Sequence preset) / Intensity HDTV 1080i 59.94 (1920 x 1080) (Sequence preset). I am testing using compressor, however when I render the sequence (it states conforming as I understand it should) but I get a general error when I follow the manuals guide to select all render options before conforming.
  Is there anyway I can compress for use in DVD SP for HD DVD and also in SD mode for an alternate SD DVD?
  What setting should I use as I am only getting failed in compressor/batch monitor? The errors are either error 0 or in other settings error 50
