  FCP shutting down before opening

  Hello, I can no longer open FCP (version 5.0.1). I’m clicking on the application and it starts loading but then disappears after a few seconds before the windows have opened. I didn’t have a problem before but this seems to have followed a power cut which happened when I had the application open and put the scratch disk external hard drive off line. Any ideas???

  Delete your prefs and try again. Apps like Finalcut pro rescue and such will make that easy for you. Check it out https://fcprescue.andersholck.com/

  I downloaded this program and it gives me an error message :FCP Rescue 5 quit unexpectedly.

  What’s this mean? I keep hitting relaunch and I get the same error.

  I’m having the same problem. FCP 5 will not open.
