Anamorphic Aspect Ratio Woes
I have a sequence that was edited with the wrong sequence settings. The footage is Anamorphic, but the box was NOT checked when the footage was brought into the timeline. I know the setting must be done before bringing the footage in, but does anyone know of a work around. It would save me.

Just go to the clip properties in the Browser and put a check mark in the Anamorphic box. That should pop the frame out to the correct aspect ratio. No need to recapture.

Which is not checked as anamorphic the footage or the timeline?
If anamorphic clips (checked) are placed on a 4:3 timeline you get letterboxed footage. All you need to do is to check anamorphic for the sequence and then select all the clips and do a remove attributes (Disort) and it should be corrected. If you have made any text/graphics with FCP you will probably need to redo them.
If your sequence is anamorphic but the clips where not checked the footage will be pillboxed and squished, just select the clips and do the remove attributes and they should pop into the correct aspect.

no its actually fine and I prefer not to check any anamorphic boxes ever in fcp because it is buggy and if you do it before the edit is finished you can run into all sorts of problems.
Its just best to do the whole thing then change the clip from 4:3 to 16:9 interpretation during dvd authoring if its to be a dvd.
