I have a Final cut project shot and edited in DVC Pro HD 720P format. I need to export a quicktime for our vendor to make a blu ray DVD. He’s asked for uncompressed or “none” codec.

-What frame size should my export be, 720×1280? Or is there a specific size for Blu Ray. Basically my question is: What is the best procedure for this export, and any settings details or tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Not sure what encoder your vendor is working with but DVC Pro HD QT will not open up on a PC. Export a 1280×720 8bit Uncompressed. Big files so make sure you have space. If it were a 1920×1080 then I would go 10bit uncompressed.

BluRay can handle 720 and 1080 projects, so I would just keep it 720 native. Export a Quicktime from your timeline using the Animation codec as that is universal across platforms. This will be a HUGE file, but it will work.

You really need to discuss this in depth with your Blu-Ray vendor. They’re the only ones who really know what they can accept, and what will deliver the best quality for them.

I’ll second what Arnie says. Your vendor will/should know what you need to deliver.
