  • Transition Render Problem….

Posted by Adam Taylor on April 16, 2008 at 12:07 pm

i have two 10bit uncompressed sd pal clips and i am trying to use the Oval Wipe effect. When the timeline is showing the effect preview (green bar) the wipe looks perfect….smooth, clean soft edge.

As soon as i render the effect, a black quality appears around the soft edge – as if it was a pre-multiplication problem.

I have my sequence set to render at Best quality and in high precision yuv.

How do you get rid of this artefact? I can’t find anything about it in the manual !!

    thanks

    found the cure ….

i had the video clips overlapping on two video tracks, with the transition applied to the top clip. The cure was simply to have them on the same video track, with the effect centred on the cut point.

i never realised using the layers with transitions could cause such a problem.

[adam taylor] “i never realised using the layers with transitions could cause such a problem.”

It really shouldn’t but I guess certain transitions play nicer when it’s all on one track.

well its good to know i wasn’t the only one surprised by this!

I try avoid these kind of transitions if i can, but every now and then they are just what you need….
