  • RECONNECTING MEDIA – need help with serious issues, tips, anything…

    Hey guys,

So my raid stripe crashed and I have copied over my backup files to new non raided terabyte SATA drives but when I open the project in FCP 6.0.1 and point it to where all the new media is and it connects after pointing it to the correct files for a couple hours, the dialogue is not matching my picture. The visual in terms of the cuts is pretty much perfect throughout but I’m having serious dialogue issues in 80% of the film. About 60% of the sound for the dialogue was from DAT tapes that were then converted to WAV files at the post house that I had to sync up and replace the existing sound after the fact that was matched based on TC in the timeline (I wasn’t made aware there were backups until after my first cut) – their TC matches the picture so it’s easy to sync – but when I check to see if the TC’s match between shot and WAV sound file in my new timeline, it does but the sound is not correct. Any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated… getting desperate, losing hair, wits etc.

FCP 6.0.1 (didn’t want to upgrade in the middle of a project so I haven’t yet)
    dual core 2.3 g5
    3.5 gigs of ram
(x4) 1 terabyte SATA drives connected through Sonnet Tempo E4i card – backup media copied from external FW800 drives.
