How do I create a strobe effect that is at 0.5 cycles per second?

There is a Strobe Video Filter.
Its in the “Video” folder.
Adjustment is by frames.

Sorry I’ve only just started using final cut pro….Ive found the strobe effect and it lets me adjust on a scale of 1 to 10 Im guessing thats frames per second like you said.
How do I work out what 0.5 cycles is? Do you know what that means? Im trying to achieve something I found written in a book, that if you add strobe lighting effects at a rate of 0.5 cycles a second you can create nausea in the viewer… -

“0,5 cycles” in regard to what time-frame?
I’ll assume per second.
In NTSC:
30 frames = 1.0 second
15 frames = 0.5 second
IF this is what you want, it would be a freeze-frame that remained on-screen for half-second, and refreshed (new freeze-frame) every half-second.

Yeah it is per second sorry for leaving that bit out.
That is what I want to do….how do I do that?
