Timecode Errors
Hi everyone,
I have recently taken the plunge with Final Cut Pro 6 and after a watching a tutorial dvd from Larry Jordan I’m quietly confident of being able to use the programme competently.
The one problem I am having that is driving me nuts is that everytime I try to capture footage, either individual clips or with batch capture, I get the following message:
Batch Capture: TImecode Error: Unable to locate the specified timecode. You may have specified a timecode with insufficient room for a pre/post roll operation.
I’m not sure what this means so any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks. -

it could also mean that the time was never set in the camera.

I am a non professional learning FCP5 as I go. I came across the same time code error and made an easy fix. After setting the in and out points,”logging the clip” I went to the browser highlighted the pre captured clips and right clicked the mouse clicking on batch capture from that popup window. A new window popped up with Capture: “all selected items”. Then under that was Options: Use logged clip setting- was checked and add handles 00:00:00;00- was unchecked. So I checked it. The error disappeared.
