Let me know if this is the correct forum. I have cross posted to the DVDSP forum as well:

I imported an NTSC DV 16:9 QT mov (exported from FCP 5 as self contained) into Compressor 2. It has chapters created in FCP 5. The TRT is 96 min. My settings are:
    – Best 120 min 16×9
    – AIFF & MPEG 2
    – Field dominance is Progressive
    – One Pass CBR
    – Average Bit Rate to 7.7
    – Output Fields tab to “Progressive”

Within a few minutes of beginning the render, the estimated running time to complete leveled off to 18 hours. That was more than 12 hours ago, and it currently shows at being 60% complete, with another 7 hours & 48 minutes to go. Is this length of time normal? Is there something I could have done wrong?

    Thanks for any advice…

What kind of Mac are you on? Those are high numbers, but if you’re on a G4 that’s about right

Very high numbers coming from a self-contained with no frame controls in Compressor. Your RAM is on the low side. See if Performance Monitor tells you anything about disk activity and RAM that gives a clue as to what’s going on.
