Applying Effect to entire timeline
Hello,
I’m wondering how to apply a series of effects to my entire timeline in FCP. I know I can apply effects to multiple clips, but I’d prefer to be able to undo & mess wth the overall effects. I also know I can nest the timeline and apply the effects, but I want to retain the individual clip integrity.
In AVID I used to apply effects to a ‘slug’ clip positioned above all the clips I wanted to alter. Is there a similar technique available in FCP? I’ve been playing with it and reading the manual but can’t find anything.

No, there is no “Filler” in FCP. You have to nest. You can also Copy and Paste Attributes, and Remove Attributes to selected clips.

As Kevin mentioned you can copy and paste attributes (including filters) to numerous clips. And you can often do them all at the same time by highlighting them all. You may already know this, but if you need any step by step instructions, just say so and I’d be happy to provide more details.
