  Can I multiclip from a sequence? (not from clips)

  Hey there,
  Can i make a multiclip based on a sequence?

  My issue is that the cameras shooting this project would stop and start, but the time of day time code would not follow. (so there’s a cut, but when it picks up again, its just the next frame as if it never cut).

  This obviously messes up my multiclip because the clips are digitized across time code breaks (since they technically ‘don’t exist’) so my multiclip is in sync at the beginning, but then after one camera ‘cuts’ (but the tc doesn’t break) the rest of the group is out of sync.

  So my solution for now is to cut each clip into a timeline until it cuts, and then line up the 2nd video clip on top of it, and the 3rd. Then i move on to the next portion of video.

  so i have a sequence with a bunch of 3 layer video clips that are in sync with each other.

  Can i group these based on the sequence?

  this is the classic way we used to do multicamera editing. You razorblade and delete all unusable shots and then get in and tweak the segments manually, It’s not too difficult, you get into a rhythm, just like sitting at a switcher.

  You can create separate sequences for each camera. vill the empty spaces with slugs of color or bars (I’d use a text label for each camera). Export the movies, bring them into a your project and mutliclip them. the crucial thing to do is make certain all of your start and stop clips are absolutely in sync to the frame between the three sequences.
