So I’m trying to make a logo that sort of imitates the new Touchstone Pictures logo (you can see it in the trailer for the Ladykillers, found here: https://www.apple.com/trailers/touchstone/the_ladykillers/large.html).

But I’m not exactly sure how to do the light streaking out and then diminishing and changing direction.

My logo is basically two color format, black and white, and the white should flash in and then sort of diminish to reveal the logo, which would then do a standard dissolve to black.

Any helpful tips/suggestions/tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

this looks more OLD than NEW to me but,

to do this you would take your logo and animate a mask or 2 for a reveal. then apply trapcode shine to this layer. it looks like they just did a dissolv, not so elegant, but that should get you going in the right direction

    who is that masked man…

Well, what if I took a radial blur set to zoom, and I changed the center position? I’d do that on a layer above the original image, so that I can fade the top layer to the normal one below it. As the animatio progresses, I would decrease the zoom length and then just fade to the regular image, or just decrease it until I have the image (no fade).
