I’m working on a video project and I have a scene that uses trapcodes fireworks effect. Now I had a suggestion brought up to me, if I could take a scene of video / image and make it preform like a firework.. ex: start from center (pixel) and blow up into a bunch of pixles that form the image roughly. I’m not quite sure about this, but I said that I would look into it. Anyone have any thoughts?

I’d look at Card Dance and Shatter. Either can be driven with a grayscale (in the case of Card Dance, a grayscale movie with a different grayscale image on each color channel can be used to drive four different parameters). Card Dance is way under-appreciated and very powerful.

With Shatter, you’d blow your image to pieces and then run the movie backwards.

However, if you already have some of Trap’s fine tools, someone will be along shortly to help you through that exercise.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Thanks for the quick response, I’ll look into both of those. Originally I thought about the shatter but wasn’t sure exactly on if it would look completely proper.
