  FCP 6.0.2 SCSI Hanging/Search…?

  Hi All,

  I’m in the middle of cutting a 12 minute travel program. The footage is being run from 4 X 10K SCSI Seagate drives spread over a 2 Channel Atto UL3D, about 270GB of media on a 500 GB RAID Arrangement. Everything on my system is pretty much up to date and pretty clean.

  I keep getting a hanging beach ball when, not all the time but when ever I scroll through footage to look for a shot (using the mouse) I keep getting the spinning beach ball as if the drives are trying to find the spot they last were but can’t.

  A Reboot fixes the issue for 15 mins or so, but as you can imagine cutting on a deadline and re-booting all the time is totally messing with my concentration and work flow.

  Any thoughts, or what might be going on here would be greatly appreciated 🙁

  Hi David,

  Thanks for that, Disk Warrior cool App hey, seems to have done the trick. Spent most of yesterday editing and no hanging thanks!

  I also downloaded the newest drivers for my Atto UL3D which probably helped too, Thanks again.
