I will start by saying that I know how to use media manager but have encountered a problem I can’t seem to fix.

Here’s my workflow with FCP 6.0.2. Select all media in my timeline and from modify menu, I click make independent clips. Then I invoke media manager and copy only used media to external sata drive. Works perfectly. Here’s where my problem began.

I had a sequence an media on drive #1. Due to workflow, I had to move it’s media for sequence #4 to a second drive until I completed sequences 1, 2, &3. At that time, I deleted that media from drive 1 and began editing sequnce 4 from media now BACK on drive 1. The sequence plays perfectly and all media is connected. When I invoke media manager, it tries to build the media list but won’t ever finish. I see that one of my multiclips that make up my sequence shows it is offline. When I try to reconnect it, it tells me the only thing offline is Drive #2. Normally it gives the path for a mising file but in this case, it only gives the drive – no file? Drive # 2 is empty so I may have a corrupted sequence in some way. Again, ALL of my media is connected. I am not missing any media.

My sequence is edited perfectly and I am trying somehow to replace the multiclip with the actual media. I am handing off this sequence to the colorist who needs individual media for each cut. ANy help would be appreciated.
