  Compressor: Sony 24pA settings?

  Hi everyone!

  I am new to the thread, so hello!

  I have a bunch of footage shot on 24p-A on a Sony HVR-V1U, and captured using Apple Intermediate Codec compression in FCP. I am trying to do whatever you do to it to remove the still frames/duplicated frames. I have created a setting in Compressor that seems right but I am still getting the duplicated frames. I want to be able to set up a droplet that will take care of the 400+ clips I need to do this to so it would be good to get it right the first time!

  I was looking at doing this in Cinema Tools but the Batch processor doesn’t seem to include an option for correcting the C2D1 field pattern.

  I am not much of a techie, but trying to learn. Can anyone see where I am going wrong with my settings? At least one of them has to be wrong but I can’t tell which one.

  What version of Final Cut?

  If it’s 6.0.2 it should recognize the footage and remove the extra frames during the capture. Right click a clip in the bin and select “Item Properties” and “Format.” Does the frame rate say 29.97 or 23.98?

  If it’s 23.98, you’re already good to go! If it’s not, then use this Easy Setup:
  “HDV – Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60”
  Then re-capture.

  It should do everything for you by itself and you’ll end up with 24p files.

  If you’re not using 6.0.2 then disregard this information and maybe someone else can help you convert your footage.

  Not 6.0.2 and can’t probably get it. Unfortunately…!

  Hopefully someone out there has a tip for the conversion settings…

  Ooh, thanks, I read this earlier today. Problem is the lack of support for batch conversion in Cinema Tools and he doesn’t talk about Compressor.

  Still looking for the answer…!
