16:9,Letterbox,4:3
I’m working on a video for my internship. I was assigned to make a sports feature about a basketball player. The interviews were shot in 16:9. He gave me some b-roll from a VHS tape that looks to be 16:9 but letterboxed onto a 4:3 aspect ratio. I know if I bring 4:3 into a 16:9 timeline, there will be black on both sides of the screen when it gets to the 4:3 video of the timeline. Im assuming if I bring this letterboxed VHS footage in, it will have the black on the sides and now on the top since it’s letterboxed. Is there a way to make it fit my 16:9 timeline?
Im afraid if I change my capture setting to 16:9 it will just stretch the image as if I were to take other footage that was shot in 4:3 and tried to capture it as 16:9.
Thanks,
