I have installed Final Cut Studio 2 on a new Mac Pro. Everything installed correctly except Compressor. The program would boot, the menu bar would appear but no windows would appear. I followed all of Apple’s troubleshooting steps including removing all the Compressor and Qmaster components and reinstalling. This did not help. Nor did doing all over again. The third time I de-selected the cluster services option in the installer. Now Compressor works but cluster services are not available to Compressor (even though they can be set in Apple System Preferences).

    Do you use Qmastering?

Everyone I know that has tried to use it say you can easily end up with random glitch frames when using clustering to net render a job.

Its a nice thought, but I wouldn’t trust it at all.

I primarily wanted to use Qmaster to get full performance on all of my computer’s processors.
