Need some ideas…
I’m making a video for the college I work at that is supposed to showcase the new smart classrooms and other technology that we installed on campus duing the past year. I want to do something with the college logo in AE for the beginning. Here is the college “logo”…

I was thinking about making some rings coming off of the steeple like it was broadcasting from a tower but I’m no sure the best way to go about that. Other than that I haven’t come up with much since I don’t have a whole lot of experience with AE. I would really appreciate any suggestions or how to’s. Thanks!

Radio Waves, absolutely. read the effects help pages very carefully, Radio Waves is much more interesting than it appears when you first open it up. totaltraining.com might have some old RW tutorials online.
That’s just a good place to start, though. The waves could pass around and over your text elements (use bevel alpha and an add transfer mode as an easy place to start). You could Wave World to generate radiating waves from the letters themselves.
Bring the letters onto the screen with a subtle lens warp effect or like they are begin switched on, like an old style television set (see that tutorial here on the cow).

I don’t feel like the vines really fit with your technology theme. Also, it would be nice to see some color- black on gray is a bit dull. The radio waves could be a little closer together as well.
