    Gidday Legends,

I’m looking at purchasing a new MacBook Pro and running FCS2 (FCP, Motion, Colour, DVD studio, Compressor, etc, etc). Will I be satisfied? Or will I be forever upgrading?

Can you experts please advise if I will be able to use the above programs with (relative) ease – I know Motion may give me headaches. I would hate to spend money on something that I will not be able to enjoy….

My plan is to purchase additional ram (upgrading to 4GB). As a cameraman/cutter I am most familiar with Avid, Quantel & Liquid – however I’m sick of PC’s and overdue to switch to Mac! Can you please advise appropriate RAM too – is there a better kind??

Your advice is much appreciated, thanks in advance!

    I’ve got a 17″ MBPro 2.4 duo w/ 4 Gb Ram and my FCS2 works beautifully.

I suggest third-party Ram for the upgrade (cheaper), and eSata drives (connect via Express 3/4 card). This would free up the firewire bus in the event you decide to pick up the AJA ioHD…

I haven’t played around much with Colour yet, but DVDStudio and Compressor both work well on my system.
