    Hey All,

I’ve got a head scratcher. I have a project file that I created in FCP6. The very same file won’t open now after a RAID issue that required Disk Warrior to fix. The error I get is the “can’t open version to new.” Strange, since there isn’t a newer version than the one I’m running. Here’s the weird part though: I switch user accounts on the same machine and I will open just fine. Not a tremendous deal, but it’s a pain none the less. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Dan,

Not that you can see… But the FCP database is most likely seeing metadata for another instance of the file.

Try opening the project file as the other user and doing a “Save as” using a different file name and see if that works. If so, then perhaps you can move your media to the directories with the proper new name, or just leave the files where they are if you’re more comfortable doing that.
