Final Cut Studio 2
Posted by Jonny Filsinger on February 15, 2008 at 1:59 amI have 4 FCP edit systems. Two are intel processors and two are G5s without. Will FCP Studio 2 software run on them? Thanks.

A Macintosh computer with a 1.25GHz or faster PowerPC G4I will now have to retire my trusty Dual Gig G4…whaaaaaa (and my Cinewave Card, whaaaa)
Anybody got FCP2 running on a Dual Gig G4??? With a Cinewave Card???

February 15, 2008 at 1:31 pmCINEWAVE? I think the last version of FCP that card works with is FCP 4.5. NO need to retire it…it works FINE with FCP 4.5 and older versions of the OS and QT. Keep it…just don’t ugrade it.
I often find myself editing on Avids that are running on OS9…because they still work.

Shane, You need an Update… I have been running the great Cinewave card with OS 10.4.9 and FCP 5.1.4
I think FCP 4.5 was the last version before the omnipotent Avid decide to sacrifice the Cinewave to their great marketing Gods. (or they just renamed it)
So I was hoping somebody in the Cow pasture might have taken the plunge and tried to push their G4 or Cinewave card further.
Trying to keep the machine running with old OS, FCP etc would just make for conflicts with the new MacPro we hope to purchase after that lunar NAB thingy….
