Got a Sony (HDV1080i) with firewire connected to my G4 and Final Cut Pro. Using Capture NOW to transfer the whole tape. A strange thing happens: Only the last shot on the tape appears in my bin, all the previous ones are not there (not in the bin, not on the scratch disk). What’s wrong?

I got: Dual 1 GHz PowerPC G4 Mac OS X (10.4.11) Final Cut Pro 5.0.4

Try doing it without the “New Clip When Cam Cuts” option – I’m sure your already thought of that but that’s all I can think of.

    Can you play that clip?

I was just wondering because HDV isn’t supposed to work on that system. We have one and it will not play HDV at all or capture. Yes, I know HDV is highly compressed and file sizes are similar to DV but HD resolution…

HDV is spec’ed out at a minimum of a Dual 1.25 G4 system

I don’t have or cannot find “New Clip When Cam Cuts” option in my version of FCP 5.0.4
Besides it’s very handy when capturing an entire tape with numerous shots….
