• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  fcp going slow… help!!!

  I am using Fcp version 6 running on a Imac 2.8 with 4G of ram. When moving items in my timeline the pop up “prepare video for display” appears and is slowing my job down. I would like to know why this is happening now when it hasn’t happened before.

  A lot of factors are involved. First we’ll start with how large is your project file? What type of media are you editing, DV, HDV. Is your media on an external HD? Are there any filters applied to your media?
