That is a shooting codec only. FCP does not work with AVCIntra natively, as the codec does not exist in the post world. When you injest that footage into FCP you need to transcode it as ProRes.

You have to select AVC-I decoder for Mac from the drop down list.

michael, I had a question about your mediavault post from back in september. Did you ever get your ciprico rx media vault up and running? Our company had the same kinda thing happen this morning and we’re very concerned about what to do next since the company seems to have slipped town. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you so much.

I’ve been asked by the by a broadcaster in the UK to deliver a progam with an AVC Intra 100 codec as that is going to become the new SMPTE standard. We are editing in MC 3.5.4 using a DNX 120 codec. Avid have said that Avid supports AVC intra however there is no way to export/transcode directly from Avid into AVC Intra. From this post should I conclude that at this stange there is no way to transcode from one codec to AVC intra?

    Diggs,

this is annold thread and there have been a few things that have changed.

If you are on a mac, MXF4mac has an Avc-I encoder which will allow you to deliver an AVC-I mxf file. The question is, what format of mxf do they want?
