subtitles
I know this has been written about many times, but I do not know any kind of programming or xml writing or what-have-you, and the posted threads haven’t helped me. My workflow for subtitling is the following:
Working in Native HDV PAL in FCP 5.1.4. Translator lives in India, and our best solution to getting him video is to create small .mov’s with burned-in timecode, to be sent via file transfer protocol (rather than sending hardcopy dvds). He can then create a text file with timecode (which matches the burned-in source timecode) and the subtitles. But, then, I have to manually create subtitles one-by-one. Looking for a solution where I can just batch import all the subtitles from a text file, guessing I’d have to convert to XML language first.
I downloaded XML2Text but I think this doesn’t help me, nor do I understand the help page or app very much in general.
Also tried Subbits, but this app had many bugs and also didn’t seem to help me.

Subbits ‘should’ be ideal for you in this case.
