  Reconnecting Media – one clip at a time

  I’m having this problem, and I can see from other threads that other people are having this problem, but has it been fixed?

  In short – my systems are currently running FCP 6.0.2. when i try to reconnect to any media, whether captured using FCP 6.0.2, 6.0.1, 6.0, or 5.1.4, I can only reconnect to one file at a time.

  I saw a post on the Apple forums from Shane saying this bug was fixed in version 6.0.2, but that is definitely not the case. i’m also reading about a lot of issues with QT 7.4. could that be related to this problem?

  please let me know if this has been fixed or if there is a work around. i open old projects all the time (mostly for re-edits for web) and this problem has slowed my progress to a crawl.

  is this reconnect problem fixed?

  Eric –

  I’m having this problem, and it’s driving me crazy. I think I was probably the one that posted the note Shane answered. I’d assumed his reply (that it was broken on 6.0 and 6.1, but fixed in 6.2)was correct and went on to other chores, but when I finally got around to upgrading to 6.2 I discovered (as you did) that it was still a problem. This is a major problem for me – I’ve got thousands of files I need to reestablish the links for, and one at a time just doesn’t do it. (Funny thing is: when I first upgraded, the first two bins I tried worked fine. But since then (no changes made, just went on to the next bin) none of the other files in my other bins work other than one at a time. And I’ve got something like 16,000 files I will need to reconnect!)
