  Will Digidesign Command8 work with FCP Studio 2

  Dear all,

  We have an old DigiDesign Command8 Control Surface that was used with an Avid / Pro Tools setup. Unfortunately, we are missing the AC adapter for the unit. Before we go out hunting and purchasing a new AC adapter, I wanted to know if this unit is compatible with Apple FCP softwares.

  We’ve since upgraded to using Apple FCP Studio for editing. I am wondering if anyone had any success connecting FCP (6.x) with the DigiDesign Command 8 Control Surface.

  And if so, are there specific driver (versions?) that I’d need?

  No it won’t work. FCP requires a control surface that supports Mackie Control Protocol and the Command 8 can’t do that.
