    Hello,

i am having trouble capturing HDV, I am using OSX 10.4.11 and a Canon XH A1. I capture on RAID discs.
When I use FCP 6.0.2 to capture, I get breaks, between 4 to 30 each hour, these breaks are about 5 sec of footage.
Then I tried Imovie, wich can capture a whole tape at once, but the audio tends to unsync more and more to the end.
(Also funny is that the Imovie codec results in files 3 times as large, not that this matters…)

I’ve tried a lot of diff settings, nothing worked.

Now I am looking for a diff application that can capture HDV, can anyone help me out?

    Thanx,
    NoiZ

Yeah, there is a developer tool that Apple puts out called DVHSCap that lets you transfer the HDV stream directly. I had to use it to work with 60p footage from the JVC HD100 before Final Cut officially supported it.

Check out this thread where we talked about it: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/8/962040

There are some useful links in there to find out how to use that program as well.
