exporting to quicktime problem: Kern Protection Failure
I am trying to export a short Final Cut sequence using quicktime conversion, and every time it gets about 30% finished, Final Cut shuts down and the error report says:
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000I’ve tried changing projects, scratch disks, and export formats, but Final Cut always shuts down. This problem just started today. I have done this many times in the past with no problems.
Any thoughts?

Yes, all the rendering is complete.

It is possible you have a corrupted file in your sequence.

do you have in plug-ins such as Magic Bullet filters in your project? I have a recurring problem where applying those filters will sometimes corrupt a file to the point that every time I click the clip in the timeline, FCP shuts down. To fix it, I just delete the clip in the timeline and recut from the original. Dont know if this is your issue, but I figured Id mention it.

I had found the same problem in a project I did last year. I somehow made it through. But am sorry I bought Magic Bullet. The project file became huge and it crashed all the time. The folks at Magic Bullet were nice enough but couldn’t confirm the problem was their software.
