  Never heard of this, but maybe someone else here on the Cow has.

  You can simply give him the Quicktime Movie files which have TC embedded in them when captured via FCP.

  I freelanced on a job several years ago where something like this was done with a special DVD player/recorder (a prototype, I believe). Honestly, it did not work very well at all. I can’t remember the manufacturers name, unfortunately.
