Hallo I have some HDV footage to capture. Is it possible on FCP 5.1 using firewire
I have tried without success. It was shot using sony HVR- Z1 and when tring capturing with the camera the capture window would show only colored pixels and would stop after a few seconds. Is this a problesm because I am using fcp 5?is it possible to have the codec ProRes 422 on fcp 5 or do I need to upgrade to 6?please help me its important work. thanks max, Italy.

Trash your preferences for FCP, and then choose the “easy setup” which matches the format you’ve shot… such as 1080i50? Be sure to be running FCP 5.1.4 too.

    P.S.

You would need FCP 6 to get the ProRes codec.
