  How is this matte thing done?

  Hello

  If you go to https://www.edpvideo.com/corporate_one.html and fast forward about a couple of minutes or so into the clip, when you get to the new section that opens with a nice sequence of mattes moving back and forth through which are product shots dipping to black (good music as well) I wonder if those interesting mattes are custom, what they are called and/or is this sort of thing easily done in either Motion or LiveTyoe (as that’s all I have)?

  Is there some software package out there that has an assortment of these kind of things already made, which one can buy and tweak to need?

  That’s very easy to create just using Travel Mattes within FCP. I would just create the boxes in Photoshop myself, but you can even create the boxes in FCP.

  Thanks very much for the reply and tutorials – so I take it I would just add many layers and various key frames in FCP to make the mattes move as the original link I inquired about…

  Yep, I would create all the movements first, nest that, and then apply the video track to the nested elements.
