Im using FCE HD and was wondering about 2 things

1: Im trying to drag photos into my timeline and have them all be the same length. How do I change the settings so that the photos only last for the desired time? I’ve gone into my user prefs and changed the duration from 2 seconds to 15 frames but when I play it back in the timeline it still seems to take 2 seconds.

2: When I drag footage or photos in a timeline, how come sometimes the audio below it splits when I drop it in there? Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. ??? Not sure why it’s doing that.

    1) You will have to drag the files back onto your timeline for that preference to work. Or just simply drag out/reduce the files as you wish.

    2) Look at the little arrow at the insert point when you drop the clip on the timeline. If is pointing down it will overwrite. If not and its pointing right then it will ripple all the clips down.

You will need to reimport your photos into FCE and the time will update to the new time.

They will default to 2 sec. because that is what the pref was set at.

If they are in the timeline, you can select them all and hit duration and change them all at once.
