  Multicam Audio Help My Creative Solution Needs Your Critique

  I have read and re-read page 279 “switching and cutting vid and aud items separately” of the manual and page 257 “When should you use the make multiclip sequence” and am interested in hearing your explination, after many of my own tests.

  3 cam dance project. 3 cams do not have matching timecode.

  I have made 1 multiclip of the 3 cams, syncing with in points. I did not mess with themulticam sequence offset option. Is this process necessary for this type of edit?

  I do know how to change the *entire* a1/a2 track — while the v1 track shows different video angels determeined by my edit. In the viewer, I simply click on the cam angle i want the audio to play throughout, and hten click on video. Blue and green boxes then are on different angles . (great article by Steve Martin)…

  Question:
  How can I switch from audio from cam a to audio from cam b in the timeline? Whenever I attempt to do this in theplayhead option in the viewer — clicking audio, then selecting the tracks, no change is made in timeline. I hear that “dink” noise from my computer. you know the sound.

  So I”m wondering How can I link ALL the audio tracks from Cam a, Cam B, and Cam C (6 audio tracks) to one Video track? This way, I would be able to select which audio works best with the dance sections.

  So The 3 cameras have differnet audio– some are levels set for music, for voice, others are on stage mic, cam mic, etc. Each of the dances requires audio from different cameras.

  As a test, My solution has been to STACK the multicam audio like so over my edit:

  v3 (cam A),
  v2(cam B) ,
  current edit v1 (cam c);
  ___________
  a1/2 (cam A), ideally this is where I want audio from different cameras according to what souds best
  a3/4 (cam B),
  a5/6(cam c);

  and then deseleected the audio on the audio tracks to see which audio works best with which dance. plan was to then delete v2 and 3 and retain the audio, essentially cutting it up according to what sounds best with each dance.

  But there must be an easier way. Hopefully my question makes sense and my solution is not causing laughter..
