DeckLink sp and UVW-1400A HELP!!!
I have a decklink sp I we have had for 4 years now…we have never been able to get deck control, or any kind of communication between it and the UVW-1400A ever…never has been an issue because we normally just dump to tape for the stations…however, we are now doing some pick of the week segments for Canada and we are having to capture the tapes with time code. We have the Keyspan with the latest drivers…the latest decklink drivers and the Final Cut Pro 6.06. The keyspan is plugged into the deck via a 9 pin to 25 pin converter then to the usb pot on a dual G5. When we go to devices we set the properties to
Protocal: Sony RS-232 (UVW-1400) 9.6k
TIme Source: LTC
Port: KeySerial 1 and also have tried USA19H2b2P1.1
Frame Rate: 29.97
Non-Drop FrameSeems no one else has had issue with this, but we just cannot get any communication with the deck. Even had the deck looked at and it checked out okay. We have the deck set to remote as well. Does anyone have a suggestion? Its either get this to work or look for another card to use, which seems like a waste of money since this configuration is suppose to work,

Decklink SP protocol is RS422.

THanks for the response…have tried this as well just for grins…no luck. the UVW 1400a has the RS232 port not the 422…so using the keyspan to bypass the decklink and go directly to the computer is the method of controlling the deck…just is not working for us. According to Blackmagic, you are suppose to use the RS232 protocol…can someone confirm this or am I just missing something?

Thanks so much for help…I have seen this post and my configuration seems to be exactly what it says…I am going to give the addenda a try…it looks like that may work…however, I am still puzzled as to why the keyspan will not work.
