  • Speed Change + Motion Blur + Render = Pink Video?

    Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone has come across this problem before. When speeding up time lapses and adding motion blur to video clips, sometimes when they are rendered the video will get pink streaks in it. The first few frames will be fine, but then the video freaks out and pink streaks appear in the video.

Here is a flickr account that shows a still of before the clip is rendered and after.

I’m working on a G5 4GB of RAM. I’ve seen this happens on 10.4.5-10.4.11 and FCP 5.0.x, FCP 6.0.x. Chancing the duration(which changes the % it is sped up) of the speed change a few frames will usually allow it to render correctly, but I never know when it’s going to show up. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    -Dan

If you’re not moving the video, Motion blur would have no effect, so I’d just take it off… Motion blur is used to blur a move, not a speed change.

Actually, on speed changes using the motion blur (the one under the motion tab in the viewer) blurs motion within the video itself.

    Here is a quick comparison.
