  clip fills hard drive on capture

  I didn’t know what search terms to use for this one…

  When I capture a mini-DV clip using “Capture Now” (I want the whole tape), it freezes up after about a minute. I look at the clip on my external hard drive (G-Tech FW400/ 500GB) and it has taken up all of the free space – 365GB!

  Can anyone tell me what is going on? More importantly, what is the fix? I’ve check the presets, trashed prefs, etc. This is just plain freaky.

  Did you format the drive in Apple Disk Utility as MAC OS Extended???

  Yes, I did. I successfully captured long clips for another project three weeks ago on this same drive.

  Since I posted my question, I took the time to scroll through this message board (instead of searching) and someone said there might be an issue with QT 7.3. Is this not compatible with FCP 4.5?
