  Blurring logos in background

  Just wondering what tools people are using in FCP6 to blur items in the background
  of shots such as logos on a persons shirt. Can you do this with FCP’s standard tools
  or do you have to use motion or third party plug-ins?

  you can do this in FCP, but if you want to have the logo tracked automatically so that the blur follows then you’ll need to either buy a plugin for FCP (https://www.lyric.com/fcp-plugins/tracking.htm) or just use Motion’s Match Move and Track features (https://www.motionsmarts.com/tutorials/matchmove1/mm1.html)

  however, if theres not much movement and/or you’re happy to keyframe it manually in FCP, then you can use my free Region Blur plugin (at https://homepage.mac.com/andymees) or go the whole hog and set up the masked blur manually as well (https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/cops_redux_stone.html)
