  no deck communication?

  Hey guys,

  I’m capturing from a sony HVR-M10p (HDV/DV player recorder).

  and whatever i try, i cant get the log and capture tool to see the deck. It had been working previously and I have just now successfully hooked it up to a laptop to check for bad cables and or blown FW ports on the deck, the laptop sees the deck and captures fine. Plugged in my ipod via the FW400 port on the Macpro and that seems ok.

  I am using the blackmagic DV easy set up and it should be plug and play but somewhere FCP is not seeing the deck.

  any trouble shooting tips?

  seems the BM dv easy set up is to blame. will capture perfectly with the apple dv set up, but get the no communication dialog when using BM set up.

  will take it up with the blackmagic crew.
