Hi, I just need some advice since I have been editing for the past 4 years without any problems on a Dual 1.25/G4 using a Promax DA Max as a converter to input analog stuff from either Beta SP or DVD to the machine. Most of the stuff that I do is just simple editing and from time to time a do a proyect in After Effects and Motion. I considering buying a brand new Imac 24″ with the latest 2.8 processor and FCS 2. Is this machine will do the work for me considering what I do, can I edit a P2 footage proyect on it? Please give me an advice…

Buy a tower instead and add the ATI 1900 card to it so you can run Motion and Color without any problems instead of an iMac where you cannot upgrade it much… You’ll want faster drives too down the line I’d think, and that would also require a tower.

Do NOT go to FCP 6.02 and QT 3 You will not be able to import P2 Material as of today.
