Sorry to have ignored your post for so long but it was unintentional and seeing it this morning, I wanted to explain that the edit functions (as in most all forums systems) are only available for a time and then they disappear. Why? Because, for example, if a user posts something that causes a reaction on the boards and then edits out the part of their post that elicited the feedback, it makes everything that follows look out of place and disconnected. So, for that and a number of other reasons, most all forums systems that we are aware of, use a “free to edit for a while and then lock the comment” modality.
