    Hi,

I am going crazy. I have Final Cut 5 which I use on my MACbook pro. For some reason my shortcut keys for adding a video transition does not work, but drag-and-drop does. Does anyone know what could be cause this problem? I have tried everything, I could think of. I don’t know what I did. Maybe I need to reset my settings?

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Eric

Have you selected the eit point before you pressed the shortcut? You might also want to check your keyboard shortcuts to make sure it’s still assigned.

    All the best,

    Tom

I usually have that when I don’t have the proper track selected. where I want to put the transition. It is those things at the left side of your canvas

Hey thanks everyone. I ended up trashing the FCP Prefences and then restarted FCP and it started working again.

I tried everything people suggested and I could think of, I am assuming it was just some weird bug. I am not sure, but I wasted enough time trying to fix it.
