Hello All: Been lurking in the shadows for a while now and finally need some guidance from the guru’s.

I will be editing DVCPRO HD for the first time ( FCP ) .
HDCAM masters to DVCPRO HD Clones are the masters of a 12 camera concert .
I will be mastering on DVCPRO HD, However , an edit to HDCAM with the same EDL is possible at a later time
Is there any TC problems capturing with firewire verses KONA 3 card HD in and Rs422 cable?
i need to be sure that the TC is rock on for the final edit so if I have to conform an HDcam edit later I will be OK.
I have had problems before wth my DVCpro50 deck (AJ-95). dropped frames. but it never matterd much as these were always the final edits.
Also, any real advantage to digitizing in Pro res other than space saving?
    Thanks

    Why clone to DVCPro HD?

Hi Jeremy: we are doing that for 2 reasons. One is to have tape backups, so we don t risk damaging the masters during edit. #2 is so that we only have to rent a DVCPro HD deck and not a $1500 a day HDcam deck. The edit is on Budget!

    Thanks

If the HDCam masters were shot @ 29.97, you will have no problem.

If they were shot 23.98, you could run into some issues.
