  DV PAL quality

  Hi,

  we have two exactly the same G5’s, with the same fcp version, same sequence and project settings and the same QT version. However, once exporting from hdv to dv (using qt export, not compressor) on one of them, QT quality is much better (has more contrast, smoother graphics, etc) while the other seems to loose some quality.We all settings we could think about and both computers seem to be the same. Any ideas why is this happening or how to make both computers produce the good quality movies?

  It shouldn’t be like that. check if in the “better looking” computer you have checked “Use high quality setting when available”, in the QT player prefernces. This can make a big difference.
